ABBA representatives actively participating at the GIF2023 meetingJune 12, 2023
The American-Bulgarian Business Association made its public debut.
Established less than 6 months ago, the organization introduced its team, the work accomplished thus far, and its set goals. This took place at a special event on October 3, 2023, at the Hilton Hotel in the capital, gathering many representatives from the business world, government authorities, and guests from the USA who came specifically for the occasion.
ABBА, created by businesses for businesses, prioritizes supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and facilitating their connections with the non-governmental sector and institutions in Bulgaria and the USA. The association aims to help companies find the right paths to realize their projects, making it easy, flexible, and successful. The organization’s ambition is to become an accessible platform and professional network for conducting business between Bulgaria and the USA.
“Our mission is crystal clear: to create an environment where businesses from both nations can thrive, where there is an abundance of opportunities, and where relationships are built that transcend continents, cultures, and generations”, stated ABBА Co-President Eliz Nestorov during the presentation. She is a successful leader with a diverse background in public and charitable activities beyond borders, and she is the recipient of the “Women of Influence” award for 2023 by the Central Penn Business Journal and an active organizer of various cultural events for Bulgarians abroad.
Sevdalin Spasov, Co-President of ABBА, shared his experience of starting a business in the American market and the challenges he faced. The experience he has gained over the years can now be beneficial to companies venturing into business with the USA. He is the founder and owner of “M Holding,” a company specializing in collecting, sorting, and selling second-hand clothing and outlet goods.
The event was also attended by American guests who came specifically for the occasion. Among them were Dr. Robert Hollister, a candidate for the House of Representatives and a public figure with significant volunteer work in the field of education. Honored guest was Nick DeMauro, President of L.E.A.D., a non-governmental organization combating drug addiction and violence in the USA.
A special address was also delivered by American Senator, member of Congress, and member of the Democratic Party, Chris Coons. He emphasized the need for an organization like ABBА, which facilitates doing business on both sides of the ocean, and he wished the team success.
Despite being established only a few months ago, the American-Bulgarian Business Association already has several dozen members. Behind ABBА are professionals and entrepreneurs from various business sectors in both countries, sharing their accumulated experience and knowledge.
